Expanding the wisdom, visibility, and influence of women in business
“The Beauty of Being Uncomfortable” Featuring Humaira Abid, Sculptor
The female world is riddled with taboos, experiences that are unspoken, unacknowledged, and cloaked in shame. Through her art, Humaira Abid, a sculptor whose cultural roots lie in Pakistan, uses her work to spark discomfort in an effort to recognize and normalize through revelation these experiences in a woman’s world. Her art allows people to explore their discomfort and talk about everything from periods and pregnancy to the pain and suffering of refugees.
Join us for breakfast as Humaira opens up about why making something beautiful is not enough for her. She will demonstrate how embracing what makes us uncomfortable allows us to pursue our passions, and why we shouldn’t be shy about exploring difficult topics and asking for help.
